How to find your Google Place ID

Every Google business listing has a Place ID, a unique code that starts with ChIJ. It is the piece the generator needs to build a link that opens the write-a-review box for your exact location, not a search result.

The quickest way to find it is Google’s own free Place ID Finder. Search your business name and address, and the ID appears in the info window on the map pin. Copy the value that begins with ChIJ and paste it into the field above.

  • Open the Google Place ID Finder tool.
  • Search your business name and address.
  • Copy the ID that starts with ChIJ from the map pin.
  • Paste it above to build your link instantly.

Where to use your Google review link

A direct link only helps if customers actually see it at the right moment. The highest-converting spots are the ones that reach a customer just after a good experience, when the goodwill is fresh.

Turn the link into a QR code for print, add it to your email signature and booking confirmations, and text it after a completed job to customers who agreed to receive messages. Each touchpoint removes a step between the customer and the review box.

  • On a QR code printed on invoices, counter cards and receipts.
  • In your email signature and appointment confirmations.
  • In a follow-up text to customers who opted in.
  • On a thank-you page after checkout or booking.

Keep the ask policy-safe

A direct link is fine to share, but how you use it matters. Google asks businesses to invite every customer the same way and never to discourage negative reviews or ask only the happy ones. Send the same link to everyone, with no filtering step in front of it.

If you also want to hear about problems privately before they go public, give every customer a private feedback form next to the public link rather than routing unhappy customers away from it. That is the difference between a service channel and review gating, which platforms prohibit.
